We embrace dedication, education, compassion, enthusiasm, teamwork, laughter, and a commitment to providing our community’s cats and their families with the highest possible quality of care.

Our veterinarian Dr. Renee Rucinsky is the only ABVP board certified feline specialist in the area, while Dr. Meghan Maasen is a Fear-Free certified professional. Our practice is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association and is a gold level accredited Cat Friendly Practice.

The People Behind the Care

Before we tell you more about us, we’d like to tell you about our amazing clients. Why? Because they’re an integral part of our practice. Our clients and the way they love and care for their cats give us a reason to come to work every morning and make it possible for us to do the work we love, and we’re abundantly grateful for this.

When you think of veterinarians and veterinary professionals, you naturally think about caring for animals, but one of the most rewarding parts of our work is building relationships with MACH clients. They come from all over and from every walk of life, but have one thing in common – they love their kitties, and we honor that human-cat bond by getting to know our clients and working with them to keep their cats healthy and happy. We have provided support and guidance, shared laughter and tears, grieved and celebrated with our clients as we’ve cared for their beloved cats, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

What MACH clients are saying…

“I can’t begin to express my respect and gratitude for MACH, and the tremendous skill and ability of Dr. R. I feel so fortunate to live locally to what I believe is the finest care facility for cats in the nation, hands down. (And I have a happy 20 year-old feline to prove it!).” – Joan I.

“Dr. R is wonderful! She takes her time, being patient and loving with her patients. Willing to explain everything and answer all of your questions, Dr. R makes the owner feel comfortable and secure. Her staff is equally as great. They are friendly and professional. It’s easy to see everyone here loves their job. I would highly recommend this office.” – Trish D.

“When I moved to the Eastern Shore in 2001, I thought it would be so hard to replace the vet I had been going to. Shortly after the move I took my cats to MACH and Dr. R and have been going since. She, Dawn and the rest of the girls treat my cats just like I do. That’s kind of hard to find. To have someone you can completely trust and know that they will do whatever it takes is truly a gift.” – Glennis D.

“I was disappointed that you don’t serve blueberry blast Slurpees there.” – Anonymous*

MACH Giving Back

As longtime members of the Eastern Shore community, we feel it is our responsibility and privilege to give back as much as we can. We are proud to support our community and its cats in a variety of ways.

We’re Feline Fanatics

Ever wondered why we specialize in cats? We’re asked all the time, and the reason is quite simple.

Continuing Education

Veterinary medicine makes advances in knowledge and technology every day, so continuing education is a key part of our commitment to providing our community’s cats with the best care possible. Continuing education is also a very important part of our AAHA accreditation and is a requirement for our veterinarians’ and registered technicians’ licenses. The MACH team members regularly attend continuing education seminars and conferences, and love bringing what they’ve learned back and putting it into practice at MACH to provide even better care for your cats.

Our Philosophy

When it comes to treating our patients, it is our goal to provide the best possible care. We strive to stay on top of new procedures, treatments, and diagnostics so we can continue to help cat owners make decisions regarding the health of their pets.

We believe that the care of each individual cat is just that – individual. With your help, together we can decide what is best for your cat. Our role in our patients’ care is not any more important than that of the owner. The entire MACH team understands that your cat is a member of your family, and we go above and beyond to make sure that you and your cat are comfortable with all aspects of the care provided. We are here to guide and help you through the wonderful experience of living with a cat.

We believe in aggressive diagnostics and treatment for early detection and treatment of feline diseases. We believe in preventative health care whenever possible. We believe that quality of life is the most important factor we as cat owners can use to decide when to pursue treatment of certain diseases, and that when quality of life is poor, euthanasia is sometimes the most humane option. When the time comes for a gentle passing, we will be there for your beloved cat and for you.
